The Field that never ends
Lucky's Chronicles are fictional stories set in the world of iLuckyStones.
The seventh Field had a familiar smell.
Lucky looked at itself and smiled: it was orange again, smooth as a sweet, just like on the very first day. After green, purple, blue and red, it had its own colour back. But it wasn't the same stone as back then. It knew how to roll, how to wait, how to go round walls and how to trust the presence from above.
And it would need all of it. The seventh Field had a bit of everything: grey blocks as heavy as rocks, red threads stretched here and there, yellow and pink drops, flashing cubes, green spikes and black spikes. And a few stars, for anyone who knew how to wait for them.
Lucky played as it had never played before. It caught, dodged, waited, set off again. The numbers inside it grew, and grew, and grew.
Then it noticed something. In the earlier Fields, at some point, the ground trembled and a door opened. Not here. The Field went on, and on. There was no way out.
«And now?» Lucky asked. «Where am I supposed to get to?»
A voice it knew answered. It was the oldest stone from the first Field, the one that a hundred years earlier had opened an eye to watch it leave. Somehow, it had made it all the way here. «Here you don't get anywhere,» it said. «Here you go further than yesterday. That's all.»
Lucky thought about it for a long time. Then it understood that it was the most beautiful thing it had heard on the whole journey. There was no finish line to reach once and for all: there was a road, and every day it could travel a little further along it.
The glowing words appeared one last time:
Every day the sun rises.
And Lucky started rolling again.
The end of the first season of Lucky's Chronicles.
Level 7: the Field never ends. That is where you play for the record: how far will you get?
