The game that came back after twelve years
In 2014 the app world was a different place. Games were built with simple drag-and-drop tools and published on the App Store in the hope of being featured. That is how iLuckyStones was born: an orange stone with big eyes, a field full of drops and spikes, and a lucky thought at every level cleared.
Then, in 2017, Apple decided that iPhones would no longer open 32-bit apps. It was a sensible technical choice, but it had a side effect: thousands of small games stopped working overnight. They weren't broken. They had simply been left behind. That same year iLuckyStones was already listed as removed from the App Store.
For years Lucky stayed locked in a folder: the original project, the pictures, the sounds, thirty thoughts written in a text file.
Rebuild it, don't patch it
In 2026 we decided to bring it back, but not on the App Store. On the web. The game was rebuilt piece by piece in HTML5, the language every browser understands, starting from the 2014 project. The rules, the items, the thoughts: everything that was there is back in its place. Some things changed, because screens have changed in the meantime:
- the playing field now stretches across the whole screen, from phone to large monitor;
- on a computer Lucky follows the mouse; on a phone you steer it with a joystick or by tilting the phone;
- you save it to your Home Screen and open it like an app, with no store involved.
What hasn't changed
Lucky still has the same eyes. Yellow drops still turn pink when you least expect it. And every level you clear still shows one of the thirty thoughts from 2014, such as «Not tomorrow: today is the moment».
Why it's worth it
Many games from those years are gone for good. Not for lack of players, but because nobody carried them forward when technology changed. Bringing iLuckyStones back is also a small way of saying that things made well deserve a second chance.
Lucky is waiting for you. Free, no sign-up.
