Key facts
- Seven increasingly difficult levels; the seventh never ends and is where records are made.
- No sign-up, no cookies, no personal data needed to play.
- Sponsors under published rules: during a game, spots appear only between levels, can always be closed, and watching to the end earns free lives. When the game opens there may be a 5-second image, with no reward.
- The name speaks of luck, but the game has nothing to do with gambling: no money, no cash prizes, betting sponsors excluded by rule.
- Scores verified by the server: a record that is impossible in the real playing time does not count.
- At every level cleared, one of the thirty lucky thoughts written in 2014.
Press release
iLuckyStones is back after twelve years: the 2014 iPhone game is reborn on the web, free and store-free
Rebuilt from scratch in HTML5, it runs on phone, tablet and computer. No sign-up, no cookies, no in-game purchases. And one unusual rule: ads between levels can always be closed, and watching one to the end earns you an extra life.
Milan, Italy, October 2026. In 2014 iLuckyStones was a small iPhone game: Lucky, an orange stone with big eyes, steered across a field of drops, cubes and spikes, with a lucky thought at every level cleared. When iOS 11 dropped support for 32-bit apps in 2017, the game was left behind, like thousands of other titles of that era; that same year it was listed as removed from the App Store.
Today iLuckyStones returns, rebuilt from the original project to run in any browser. It is played at iluckystones.com, and on phones it can be saved to the Home Screen like an app, with no app store involved.
How it plays. The goal is to get as far as possible through seven increasingly difficult levels. Yellow drops give points but can turn pink and cost lives; black spikes must be tapped before they reach Lucky; walls appear from level two. On a computer Lucky follows the mouse; on a phone it is steered with a joystick or by tilting the device. Level seven never ends: that is where records are made.
A different ad model. The game is free thanks to sponsors, under rules published on the site: during a game, spots appear only between levels and can always be closed; watching to the end earns free lives (1 for a 5-second image, 2 for a 10-second video); the button always shows the sponsor's website address; betting and gambling, illegal and pornographic sponsors are not accepted. The only declared exception is a 5-second image when the game opens, which cannot be closed and gives no lives.
Privacy and fair records. No account is needed: the game uses no cookies and never asks for a name, email or location. Scores are verified server-side against real playing time, so impossible records are recognised.
"Many games of that era didn't disappear because people stopped playing them, but because nobody carried them forward when technology changed," says the iLuckyStones team. "We wanted to bring Lucky back as it was, with the same lucky thoughts from 2014, but with rules that respect players more: no purchases, no personal data, and an ad you can always close between levels."
